Emily Hoballah
ERYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor
26x2 Yoga Teacher Trainer
Mindfulness and Burnout Coach
All my life, I have enjoyed a variety of fitness activities, from water skiing to competitive running, cross training to dance, so the hot 26x2 sequence was a natural fit for me. The strength and endurance aspects were familiar, but what was new to me was the mental quietness that I found in the hot room. It was more than just focus, it was a peacefulness in my mind. It’s what opened the door for me to the world of yoga and moving meditation…
Years later, during a particularly difficult period with my autoimmune disease, I went back to my yoga toolbox to see what I was missing. At that point, my yoga training was mostly focused on the physical asanas in 26x2, vinyasa and hatha styles. But then I heard about a Mindful Yoga Teacher Training and my curiosity was piqued.
Mindfulness training redefined my relationship with yoga, but also with myself. It taught me acceptance and the ability to meet myself wherever I am, to let go of the criticisms and self-judgement that held me back and brought me down. It transformed my thought patterns and changed how I respond to stressful situations. It taught me how to turn off autopilot and actually show up for the present moment that is life. Mindfulness is what allows me to live my best life and to be the best version of myself, even through the hardest moments.
I’m a global citizen, having lived in 7 different countries since 2013. This gives me a uniquely global perspective that has greatly influenced my teaching philosophy. Meeting people, creating connections, sharing experiences, that’s the beauty in life. I believe that yoga opens us to a greater connection with the people and the world around us, fostering compassion and deepening our understanding of others and the human experience - that we’re all in this together.
Whether you’re joining me for my Hot 26x2 trainings or Mindfulness and Burnout Coaching, my goal is to help you create a deeper connection with yourself. By strengthening your understanding of the postures and their alignment, you learn to connect with your body on a whole new level as you discover how your body works within the postures, and how the postures work within your body. By adopting Mindfulness practices and principles into your daily life, you learn to accept yourself as you are - your thoughts, feelings, and physical state in all their variations.
I hope that I’ll have the opportunity to get to know you during one of my trainings, courses or coaching sessions! Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to know more about what I offer and how we can work together. Namaste!
